3 Month & Non Member registration opens March 14

Summer Day Camp at the Waldo County YMCA is for age 4 (by March 1, 2022) through grade 6. Each of the four camps we are offering in 2022 offers age-appropriate programming around a weekly theme.

CAMP SAKARI: Meaning = Sweet  Age 4 & 5 (must be 4 by March 1, 2022, & be potty-trained)
For our youngest campers' first camp experience we offer this structured & creative camp focusing on building independence. Games, activities & crafts change weekly supporting our theme. Time is spent at the Y swimming in our pool, outside on our playground, and under our Pavilion. Field trips to local parks.  Annual Member benefit - Little Learners Preschool sign up first. 

 

CAMP KODA: Meaning = Little Bear Completed grades K - 1

Get ready for guaranteed fun with Camp Koda! We will break into smaller groups and fill them with a variety of creative activities. We encourage all campers to participate in team-building activities as well as those centered around our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility.

CAMP KEOONIK: Meaning = Otter Completed grades 2 - 3
Our goal is to guide campers to embrace nature in a safe environment to explore and create memories for life. This group will venture on field trips, swimming, and fun activities that pertain to the weekly themes. 

CAMP NEDOBAK: Meaning = Friendship Completed grades 4 - 6

We will travel around Belfast and utilize the surrounding schools as our home base. Our focus is on physical and mental team-building games mixed with some healthy competition. Some of the many games we play are kickball, flag football, and dodgeball. Campers will spend much of the outside and swimming at the Y. Dress in layers in case of weather.

2022 WEEKLY THEMES:


Week 1, June 27 - July 1 Welcome Back

Campers reunite with old friends while making new friends via team building, trust games, and activities. 

Week 2, July 5 - 8: Made in the USA!

Campers participate in games and activities to celebrate our Country. Join us for a yet to be determined 4th of July Parade. This four-day week will be prorated.
 

Week 3, July 11 - 15: Coastal Living

Campers will embark on a coastal adventure, learning about our ocean and life on the Maine coast. 
 

Week 4, July 18 - 22 Carnival Week

This will be a week to remember with carnival games, such as ring toss, balloon popping, and much more. 

 

Week 5, July 25 - 29: Super Heroes

Campers will test their superpowers. Train like a superhero and create your own superhero costume, powers, and names.

Week 6,  August 1 - 5 Fitness & Fun in the Sun

Let's have some fitness fun with outdoor exercising, healthy habits, and a little competition.

 

Week 7, August 8 - 12 Our Y Challenge

This will be a competitive week with games and activities and older camps leading up to the infamous food challenge.
 

Week 8: Aug 15 - 19 Final Encore

The final week of camp-goodbye summer. Campers spend time brushing up on their talents for the show at the end of the week, along with the slideshow.
