When you belong to the Waldo County YMCA, you’re part of something bigger than a “swim and gym.” Your membership helps strengthen our community by supporting youth programs, swim lessons, childcare, summer camp, senior programs, health and wellness opportunities, and so much more.
The Y is a place to improve your health, learn new skills, connect with others, and spend quality time with friends and family. Most importantly, the Y is a place where everyone belongs.
2026 Membership Options
We offer both Annual Memberships and 3-Month Memberships. Both provide access to many of the Y’s facilities and amenities, while an Annual Membership offers our greatest range of benefits and value.
3-Month Membership Benefits
Your 3-Month Membership includes:

Complimentary fitness orientation to help you become familiar with our fitness equipment and facility.

Access to our climate-controlled Fitness Center, featuring a variety of cardio and strength-training equipment.

Members ages 12–14 must complete a fitness orientation and have adult supervision.

Members must be 17 or older to use free weights.

Access to our indoor walk/jog track. Lap counters are available at check-in.

Use of our 10,000-square-foot gymnasium during non-program times. Please note that our year-round childcare and other programs utilize the gymnasium at various times throughout the day.

Access to the Tom and Sally Savage Pool Complex, featuring:

79–80°F lap pool

89–90°F therapy pool

Hydrotherapy spa

Day use of our locker rooms and shower facilities, as well as three Family Locker Rooms, each equipped with a private shower. Additional lockers are available in the hallway.

Free 6th Grade Youth Membership
We’re excited to continue offering FREE Youth Memberships to Waldo County 6th-grade students for the 2026–2027 school year!
Eligible 6th graders receive a Youth Membership at no cost, giving them the opportunity to stay active, connect with friends, and be part of the Y community.
How to Get Started
The Free 6th Grade Membership cannot be selected or activated online, but you can start the process online by creating an account and adding your child as a Participant.
Please follow these steps:

Click the blinking button that says JOIN NOW

Select “Participant” as the membership type.
Do not select or purchase another membership type. The Participant option allows you to create your YMCA account so we can add the free 6th Grade Youth Membership for you. -
Create or sign in to the parent/guardian’s YMCA account.
The account should include the parent or guardian’s information, including a current email address and phone number. -
Add your 6th grader to the account.
Please enter the child’s name, date of birth, and all other requested information. -
Complete the Participant registration.
You will not be charged for the 6th Grade Membership during this process. -
Email our Membership Director at lalmatrouk@waldocountyymca.org.
Let us know that you have completed the Participant registration and would like to activate your child’s Free 6th Grade Youth Membership. -
We’ll take it from there!
Our Membership Director will verify the information and activate the free membership. You will then receive:-
A welcome email with important membership information.

A YMCA waiver form for the parent/guardian to review and sign electronically.

Please note: The Free 6th Grade Membership is a Youth Membership only and cannot be applied as a discount toward another membership type.

Membership Rates, Guest Passes, Fees, and Payment Policies
2026 Membership Rates
Membership Payment

3-Month Memberships must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Annual Memberships may be paid in full or through convenient monthly automatic payments.
-
For monthly payments, members may choose to have their payment automatically drafted from a checking or savings account, debit card, or credit card on either the 1st or 15th of each month.

When beginning an Annual Membership, your first month's dues will be prorated based on your join date.
Activation Fee
A $50 Activation Fee applies when starting a new Annual Membership or reactivating a lapsed Annual Membership.
The Activation Fee is waived when:

Another member of the same household activates a separate Annual Membership.
-
You transfer an active membership from another YMCA.
-
You pay your Annual Membership in full at sign-up.
Activation Fees help support ongoing facility improvements and equipment purchases at the Waldo County YMCA.
Membership for All
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to belong at the Y.
Our Membership for All program offers reduced Annual Membership rates based on gross household income. If financial assistance would help make membership fit your budget, we encourage you to complete an application.

Gift Certificates
YMCA Gift Certificates are available for purchase at the Front Desk.
Gift certificates are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Refunds, Holds & Cancellations
Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Program fees may be eligible for a refund prior to the start of a program session, with the exception of any designated non-refundable deposits.
Memberships may be placed on hold for up to three months for medical reasons.
We require at least three business days' written notice to make changes to or terminate a membership account.
Rate Changes
The Waldo County YMCA reserves the right to adjust membership rates as needed.
Members enrolled in automatic payments will receive at least four weeks' notice before a rate adjustment takes effect.
We are committed to communicating membership changes clearly and providing our members with advance notice whenever rates are adjusted.
MAKING MEMBERSHIP POSSIBLE FOR ALL
We believe everyone in our community should have the opportunity to belong at the Waldo County YMCA.
That’s why we work to keep our membership rates as affordable as possible and offer Membership For All, our financial assistance program. Based on your gross household income, you may qualify for a reduced membership rate that fits your budget.
If financial assistance would make YMCA membership more accessible for you or your family, we encourage you to apply. Applications are available at our Welcome Center, and our team is happy to answer any questions and help you through the process.

In 2025, the Waldo County YMCA provided $116,536 in financial assistance for memberships, helping make the Y more accessible to individuals and families throughout our community.

That’s $4,234 more than in 2024, an increase of about
3.8%.
