Tomorrow, we will host our first basketball tournament in three years! It’s an exciting milestone. I the past month, we have seen more and more people in our Y, especially children. Soccer and Field Hockey have brought in families on Thursdays and Saturdays. Our new high school pick up hour on Wednesday nights is gaining in popularity. And middle school students have been flocking to our TeenTime program… (So much so that we are planning an online sign up to start in April!) Activity at the Y is surging.
Other Y CEOs are seeing the same thing at their Ys. And we all notice that we are out of practice.
Believe me, we are doing our best, trying to shake the rust off where that will help and implementing new procedures where appropriate. Thank you for your flexibility and commitment to making our community work.
P.S. If you want to come see the third and fourth grade children play basketball, it’s going to be a great time. The Girls’ teams will be playing at Troy Howard Middle School. The Boys’ teams will be in our WCY Gymnasium. Games start at 9am. We are grateful to Stanley Chevrolet and the Maine Chevy Dealers for sponsoring this first tournament in years! Thank you to Stanley Chevrolet, Rollie’s Bar and Grill, and Inner Sense Printing for providing water and prizes.
