The Therapy Pool Like You've Never Seen It

rwerkman

As part of our annual pool maintenance, we pumped all the water out of the Therapy Pool in order to be able to fix a drain and clean the pool. The pool looks much bigger with no water in it!

Here is the pool, with Dan stripping and cleaning the deck in front of it.

In the picture below, you can see Jensen sweeping the accumulated grit of the past year into a corner for removal.

Look how much there is!

I'm glad it's getting cleaned!

In addition to the work you can see, we are:

  • replacing a valve that was no longer working to regulate pool temperature,

  • changing all the media in the filters,

  • deep cleaning the entire deck and mechanical room

  • recharging the water in the lap pool

With the help of the Belfast Water District and Fire Department, we are on track and looking forward to opening again after Labor Day. The revised schedule, reflecting the shortage of lifeguards, will be published on Thursday.

By the way, if you know anyone who is interested in earning their lifeguarding certification, earning money, and, most importantly, helping the community, ask them to sign up for the Lifeguarding class on September 17, 18, and 19!

Thank you for helping us keep Waldo County Strong!
