Happy Halloween!
I hope you saw some of the smiles and costumes from our Halloween Trunk or Treat event. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in our parking lot, 35 volunteer trunkers doled out thousands of pieces of candy (ya... we counted more than 12,000 pieces that had been donated to support the event!) to 500+ children and their parents.
I am always blown away by the creativity of the costumes and the excitement of the children. It makes up for my guilt about all the sugar we are adding to their lives! (But it's only one day! We give out thousands of healthy snacks and lunches over the course of the year, which makes up for it, I hope!)
We could not do Trunk or Treat with out the dozens of volunteers who dress up, who help set up and clean up, who make our parking lot the place to be.
In many ways, that's the magic of the Y. We provide the place and a little leadership; the community makes it special.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. And I hope you have a terrific Halloween!
