2012 General Fitness Classes
Members ages 12-14 must have a fitness orientation
and adult supervision while in the Fitness Room.



GENERAL FITNESS CLASSES

All General Fitness classes are held in the Wellness Room unless otherwise noted. Instructors & class times are subject to change, based on availability and number of participants. Pre-Registration is not required for General Group Fitness Classes. All fees must be paid before attending classes. A 12-class card can be purchased at the Front Desk for General Fitness Classes. No refunds for lost or stolen 12-class cards. You can become a class participant at any time! Days and times of classes vary, Click here for the Fitness / Wellness Schedule

FITNESS / WELLNESS SESSION

  • Balanced Fitness 30 min. Zoe Calder
    A comfortable atmosphere for having fun, while improving flexibility, muscle tone, coordination, balance, heart & lung capacity.
  • Body by Hoop 30 min. Judith Tingley
    Learn how to use a weighted hoola hoop for a fun exercise workout!
  • Cardio Step 60 min.Tamera Blades / Maggie Raymond / Dan Winston / Don Maurio
    A high-energy aerobic workout using a step platform, includes ab work & stretching.
  • Dynamic Definition 60 min. Tamera Blades / Lila Maycock
    A class that offers a variety of effective formats incorporating the use of a step, tubing, weights, & balls. Work your entire body in full range resistance exercises that increase strength, muscle tone, & flexibility.
  • Forever Fit 60 min. Tamera Blades / Jasmine Schmidt
    You’ll participate in low-impact aerobics, muscle strengthening & stretching.
  • Gentle Yoga 60 min. Ashes Messner / Polly Ireland
    Longer holding of yoga poses to improve strength, flexibility, balance, decrease stress and enhance body awareness.
  • Heart-Core Circuit 60 min. Don Maurie / Traci Sheldon
    Challenging athletic cardio intervals and intense strength moves join together to create a circuit that covers all the bases.
  • Interval Training 60 min. Susan Wieman
    Raise your heart rate with a mixture of kickboxing, step aerobics, strength training, abdominal work and stretching.
  • Pilates on the Mat 60 min. Annie Watson
    Learn creative ways to isolate, strengthen and stretch every muscle of the body in a functional and effective way. Pilates mat exercises will enhance core strength and promote flexibility and muscular control.
  • Sunrise Surprise 60 min. Traci Sheldon
    Instructor chooses the cardio. It could be step, hi-lo, jog, rope jumping, a combination of any of these, or who knows. Plus strength and core training!
  • Tai Chi 60 min. Dave Hurley
    A soft, non-violent martial art that brings relaxation and develops coordination and balance. All levels welcome!
  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga 60 min. Dawn Preston-Alden / Polly Ireland
    Designed to improve the health, performance and mental acuity of anyone interested in improving their level of fitness. Practical user-friendly style that can be done by everyone.
  • Zumba 60 min. Tamera Blades / Jenny Woodbury / Jasmine Schmidt
    Dance steps are taken from salsa, cha cha, samba, tango, merengue, add hints of flamenco, calypso, hip-hop and belly dancing, and put them in a workout routine to Brazilian, Latin, and Island rhythms.
