Our Before & After School Handbook

Our before and aftercare program is for children in grades PreKindergarten - 5. We open at 7:00 a.m. and children are picked up by the bus at 8:30 and brought to school. At 3:30 the buses drop the kids back off for an afternoon of fun. Our program provides a safe, fun, nurturing place for kids to go after school. Our staff is well trained, fun and energetic. Kids in our after school program are offered a variety of things to do daily. An after school snack is provided as well. Our program is open until 6:00 p.m.

We welcome PreK students to the
Before & After Program!

*Please check for availability for Pre-Kindergarten students,

Activity offerings
in the Afterschool program
at the YMCA:

Open swim will continued to be offered to our afterschool kids on a regular basis, be sure to check the calendar so your child has his/her bathing suit.

5210! Let’s Go
A nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program designed to increase healthy eating and active living in children from birth to age 18. It is centered on the common message of 5 or more fruits and vegetables, 2 hours or less of recreational screen time, 1 hour or more of physical activity, and 0 sugary drinks.

Cooking Club Children learn not only how to prepare new dishes that they can share with their families, but how to clean up in the kitchen after the cooking is done! Cooking club is offered every other week, the opposite week is swimming, be sure to check the calendar so your child has his/her bathing suit.

Game of the Week Club Every week children have the opportunity to vote on a game to play. The most popular game is the game of the day but it cannot be the same game as last week. This helps us offer a variety of games for the variety of personalities we have in our program. The object is to keep everyone moving.

Dodge Ball Club Kids are able to play their favorite game once a week and are able to perfect their skills in dodge ball. Game on!!!!

Karaoke / Dance Club This is a great way to get up and get moving without thinking it is exercise. Most parents can't resist the urge to join in!

Art Club This includes everything from drawing with pencils, coloring with crayons and markers, using pastels and painting to crafts and origami!

Additional Care Days

We also offer care on snow days, early release days, in-service days and school vacation weeks. If you require care during vacation weeks we must have your registration and payment two weeks prior to the vacation week. This allows time to staff properly and plan activities. Please call for more information.

Our Preschool Handbook

Since September 2002, our Little Learners Preschool has been a cornerstone in building on a child’s natural desire to learn things and become more self-reliant. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are all parts of learning. Little Learners Preschool is a safe, fun and comfortable place where children build positive relationships with caring adults. Your child will be involved in a variety of activities such as discovery, gym-time, art, science, writing, music and reading; all helping our preschoolers stretch their skills in mind and body. We encourage self-reliance, self-respect, friendliness, cooperation, curiosity, and creativity.

Our staff will assist in toilet-training.
We include swim lessons for our preschoolers.
