Lifeguard Training
Our Lifeguard Classes are scheduled as needed, a minimum of 5 participants is required. Add your name to our waiting list at the front desk.
Prerequisite Skills:
• Swim 300 yards continuous using combination of front crawl and breast stroke
• Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs
• Swim 20 yards, retrieve 10 pound object from deep end, swim on back holding object with both hands to shallow end and exit pool without ladder

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Participants must be 15 years old by the end of the session.

If you’re 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or challenging career that’s in demand, the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the best place to start. Lifeguarding lets you work as part of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. You could even save a life!

Learning is fun and easy! Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn—
• Rescue skills for use in the water and on land.
• First aid and professional rescuer CPR/AED training.
• Professional lifeguard responsibilities.
• Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries.
Here’s your chance to build your résumé and show the world what you can do:
• Prepare for college and a career by developing leadership and communication skills.
• Be a hero by learning lifesaving skills, such as first aid, CPR and AED.
• Have fun and earn money at a job you can take anywhere.

Water Safety Instructor
Our Water Safety Instructor Classes are scheduled as needed, a minimum of 6participants is required. Add your name to our waiting list at the front desk.
Fee:
$200 Annual Members
$250 3-Month & Non-Members
After completing this class, the successful instructor candidates will be certified to teach water safety, Learn-to-Swim, Preschool Aquatics and Parent and Child Aquatics. This course also includes the pre-requisite Fundamentals of Instructor Training course. Participants must be 16 years of age by the end of the session.

Lifeguard Instructor Training
Our Lifeguard Instructor Classes are scheduled as needed, a minimum of 4 participants is required. Add your name to our waiting list at the front desk.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified to teach basic-level Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Attendant (both including first aid), Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training. Instructor candidates also will become familiar with GuardStart. The pre-requisite Fundamentals of Instructor Training course is also included. Participants must be 17 years of age by the end of the session.
