Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
**This trip is FULL**
A wonderful trip for the summer. Enjoy the 248 acres of the magnificent
ornamental gardens and natural forest. You can view the many theme gardens
along the trails at your own pace. The gardens offer dramatic landscapes
and a remarkable diversity of plants and habitats. A few of the display
gardens are: Burpee Kitchen Garden, Rose & Perennial Garden, Woodland
Garden and Fairy Garden. We will enjoy lunch together provided by the
Kitchen Garden Café in a group dining area. The Visitor Center
and the Central Gardens are handicapped accessible. Some of the smaller
trails and hillside trails require a good walking ability. Lunch is included
and selection must be made at registration. We will need a minimum of
15 participants for this trip.

Songo River Queen II
The River Queen is an honest to goodness replica of the famed Mississippi
River Stern Paddle Wheelers. The trip takes you along the Songo River
on this 2.5-hour cruise. The Queen passes through two swinging bridges
as well as going through the famous Songo Lock. There is a snack bar on
boat or you can bring your own picnic on board. We will need a minimum
of 15 participants for this trip.

PUFFIN WATCH
After learning about puffins at the Puffin Project, we head out to Egg
Rock to view these remarkable little birds. National Audubon naturalists
are aboard to narrate. This is an hour and half cruise that departs from
New Harbor. You may want to bring a picnic supper with you, snacks are
for sale on the boat. If motion sickness is a problem, please consider
taking necessary measures. We will need a minimum of 15 participants for
this trip.

LAKEWOOD THEATER
**This trip is FULL**
Come to Lakewood Theater to enjoy a buffet lunch followed by the musical
comedy Guys and Dolls. This oddball romantic comedy introduces a cast
of vivid characters and familiar songs. Trip includes transportation,
lunch and theater. We will need a minimum of 15 participants for this
trip.

Ogunquit Museum of Art
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art is touted as “The most beautiful
little museum in the world” – Frances Henry Taylor, Director,
Metropolitan Museum of Art. The featured exhibits during out visit will
be: Dorothy Eisner: Paintings 1951-1983, The New Hope School: Pennsylvania
Impressionists and The Watercolors of Robert Eric Moore. We will visit
the museum and then head to Perkins Cove for lunch (at your own expense)
before making our way home. We will need a minimum of 15 participants
for this trip.

Moose Safari & Foliage
Overnight
Experience the Maine wilderness on this trip. Join our group as we head
north to Moosehead Lake during the beautiful Fall foliage season for an
overnight trip. We will be able to enjoy one night of lakeside lodging
in cozy cabins at the Birches Resort on the western shore of the lake.
During our visit we will be taken out on a Moose Safari in a float boat
and then relax and enjoy the scenery in the area. After breakfast on Tuesday,
we will visit the Victorian mansion and the Carriage House which is a
part of the Moosehead Historical Society. The trip will include: l night
of lodging, ticket for moose safari, ticket for the mansion tour, 3 meals
(lunch & dinner on the day of arrival & breakfast on the day of
departure), taxes and transportation. Gratuity is not included. We need
a minimum of 8 participants for this trip.

Summer Dances
Walking is exercise but dancing is exercise too. Shine your shoes and
plan to kick up your heals at the YMCA on the 2nd Wednesday of the month
from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. If dancing isn’t your thing then just
come enjoy listening to the music as Irving and Roberta Blum spin their
tunes for everyone’s pleasure.

Active Adult Luncheons
The YMCA hosts luncheons for folks 60 years and older
on the last Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. The luncheons provide
older adults with a great opportunity to gather at the YMCA and socialize.
Speakers or entertainment are provided at most of the luncheons. Topics
range from health, social and community issues to just plain fun and entertainment.

Lifetime Fitness
60 minutes Tamera & Don
For men & women 60-years and older. The class offers activity for
life-long fitness.It includes warm-up stretches, walking, low-level aerobics,
optional chair exercises, muscle strengthening & relaxation. Burn
calories while improving flexibility, muscle tone, coordination, balance,
and heart & lung capacity.

The Lifetime Fitness Program is a series of specially
designed and tested exercises developed specifically for mature participants.
The Program consists of one-hour classes, meeting three times a week and
is designed to be socially stimulating while focusing on areas of recognized
importance for mature participants: stretching, low-impact aerobics, strength
training and balance.

A soft, non-violent martial-art, sometimes referred to as moving meditation.
The practice brings relaxation, develops coordination & balance. All
levels are welcome. Loose comfortable clothing is all that is required.

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their
activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-wining program designed to
manage falls and increase activity levels. Materials & snacks are
provided. This offering is a collaborative effort between the Waldo County
YMCA and Spectrum Generations. This program emphasizes practical strategies
to manage falls.
