2012 Teen Dances

Middle School Dances
Dances are open to students currently in 6th - 8th Grade.

Who: Waldo County middle school students only

Please check with the YMCA for times and fees. Please bring your school ID to speed admission.

Please note the following dress code requirements and make sure that you are appropriately dressed:

No clothes with alcohol, tobacco, or other drug related pictures or slogans.
No clothing with sexually or culturally offensive pictures or slogans.
Both shoulders must be covered with at least 1/2 inch of material.
Tops should not reveal breasts and shirts should not allow stomachs to show.
Length of skirts, dresses or shorts should not be shorter than mid-thigh.

Monthly TEEN Dance
Help Needed

The Waldo County YMCA has been hosting monthly teen dances for the past 7 years. This is an extremely popular event with the Waldo County middle school students. Each dance attendance is usually 170 - 230 students. Nearly six full-time staff volunteer their time to come and support the teens and this event.

It is very important to receive support from outside the YMCA either through family or other willing volunteers. Please consider attending a teen dance and helping in a number of different ways:

1. Adults help with collecting admission fee.
2. Check kids names off as they enter the dance.
3. Help supervise the Gym during the dance.

If you can help with one dance or one hour, it is a tremendous help. Please see Brandon with any questions you may have or call the YMCA at 338-4598.

Please consider becoming a volunteer. The process is simple:
1. Fill out a volunteer application
2. Come in to the YMCA for a short interview
3. Have background and reference checks
4. Complete orientation as a volunteer
